Richards Motorsport journey begun at seven years old racing at Mount Wellington Kart Club - cutting his teeth against some of New Zealand's best, often against family names with three generations of karting pedigree.
Initially as a passion for speed and fun, Karting quickly became competitive as Richard and his family started to travel the country winning multiple local and regional Karting championships. In 2007 Richard competed at the Rotax Max Challenge World Finals against 64 national winners from around the globe, finishing in a respectable 7th position.
Moving shortly after to the Senior classes in 2009 Richard won the New Zealand National Open Title at KartSport Hamilton.
Richard continues to compete when time allows, holding the core values of enjoyment and fun as the purpose for the passion. Richard is also on the Executive of KartSport New Zealand - supporting digital and events marketing as well as developing the future stars of the sport through his role as the KartSport Academy Director.
